FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Hardwood Floor Refinishing?
Refinishing means sanding your floors down to bare wood, re-staining with the color of your choice, and applying polyurethane. If you prefer oil-based polyurethane, we will apply 2 coats and lightly sand between coats. Using water-based polyurethane involves applying three coats, lightly sanding between the first and second coats, and scuffing between the second and third coats. Before each coat, we ensure to tack and clean the dust. This widely recognized method typically takes 2 to 4 days, resulting in a finish for homeowners that’s close to perfect. With our low prices, our hardwood floor refinishing services is the most affordable and valuable one in the Denver area.
What is Hardwood Floor Resurfacing?

Resurfacing is our signature service that quickly and easily removes light scratches, scuffs, ground-in dirt, and dullness. It does NOT affect the color of the wood (other than brightening) and does NOT extensively sand away precious wood surfaces. Our versatile process is applicable to all types of wood and stands as our most cost-effective service. Our efficient approach ensures quick completion, with most projects finished within hours rather than days.

I Have a Few Really Deep Scratches, Do I Need Resurfacing or Refinishing?
A deep scratch here and there may not be a bad thing, and if you have pets or children then removing all scratches may very well be a temporary fix. Regardless, our refinishing service does the best job at correcting deep scratches in hardwood flooring. On the other hand, our resurfacing service doesn’t involve sanding, but it can still be beneficial to get a new finish and protect your long-term investment. Give us a call and we’ll help you decide which service will be best for your home!

I Have Pet Stains On My Hardwood Floors, Can You Fix It?
Maintaining the integrity of your hardwood floors relies on promptly addressing pet accidents while they are fresh. Following the steps outlined in the next section should effectively resolve most problem areas. However, if it doesn’t work then the urine has probably soaked into your flooring and more serious hardwood floor restoration work will be required. We are confident in our ability to conquer most pet stains, but contact us to determine the severity of your stain.
What Do I Use To Clean Deep Stains On My Hardwood Floors?
White vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 4 parts water). Prepare a spray bottle for little, everyday accidents and a bucket for the bigger stains. Scrub stains thoroughly. Wipe the surface clean, and then dry it completely. Ensure that the area is completely dry before proceeding. Beware of using cleaners with ammonia in it. Pet urine actually contains ammonia, and if your pet smells the ammonia where they last had an accident they are more likely to want to relieve themselves in that same spot next time.
Is Your Process Really Dust Free?

Our method produces minimal dust thanks to the vacuums attached to our equipment, effectively eliminating the majority of it. What lingers is a thin layer of dust on the floor, with no airborne particles created. We take care of the remaining floor dust by vacuuming it up, followed by a thorough cleaning using tack rags.

Is Your Process Odorless?
For resurfacing, we use only waterborne products that are “Greenguard” certified. The only smell is a very light, pleasant aroma.
How much does it cost to refinish or resurface hardwood floors?
The answer varies depending on the size and scope of the project. Typically, we can resurface a wood floor for just $0.99 per sq/ft, but that price can vary. Please give us a call to get a free price quote for your specific job right over the phone.
